Reunion

The

Out of the ashes and in the shadows of that fateful picnic under the weeping willows at the base of Hanging Rock on St. Valentine’s day in the Year 1900, an ember glows in the dark.

For those who would return to Mount Macedon and the Rock on St. Valentine’s day one hundred years later, lives would be changed forever.

Three descendants return and are destined to follow a journey for the truth. The lives of those driven by the ancestral past again dance to the calls of the Rock, and the whispers of an aboriginal adnamata warrior will haunt the minds of those who seek their own survival dreamtime.

The mysteries of the unexplained energies of Hanging Rock fascinate scientific interests seeking an alternative energy source and top secret monitoring agencies tracking these notions by satellite and driven by greed, develop a chilling build in search of hidden secrets. A search for answers allows the most riveting sequence of events to unfold.

Three special scientists and three mysterious invitations arrive, a strange yet familiar group of people is brought to Mt. Macedon for a reunion and adventure of mystical proportion. The hero, finds himself in the same setting 100 years ago gave way to one of the most interesting and unsolved mystery’s ever told. The results in a series of events that unfold to reveal the possible nature if this place and the return of two picnickers lost 100 years prior but at what cost?

While searching for possible sites for a long term, next generation power source a wealthy German industrialist sends the three scientists who are working on a time distortion theory in the Bermuda Triangle and Egypt to Mt Macedon. Their task as the best in their appropriate fields, is to investigate some incredible satellite readings coming from the area.

At the same time a descendent of Irma and distant relatives of Miranda and Marion, the girls who visited Hanging Rock in 1900 mysteriously receive invitations to attend to reunion. However there is also a mystical overview painted by the haunting scene of an aboriginal  Adnamata warrior to the descendant and distant relatives in dream sequences that parallel the sending of the invitations. An Australian music icon Billy Thorpe is having a reunion of Sunbury only 20 kilometres away and a poster appears above his head during a retro scene. It says “The Reunion a Timeless Event”.

Return to Hanging Rock

Without being explicit the sexual innuendo of the film follows the same lines set down in the classic Picnic at Hanging Rock. This point is emphasised is several poignant scenes. One scene at the Louvre (with a reference to the Botticelli angel) is a strong reflection scene with Irma the great grand-daughter of the original Irma.

Descendants of local identities from Mt. Macedon play an important part in the setting of this place. This draws out the feeling of déja vu for the three girls who have come from France, Canada and Northern Queensland. The girls feel elements of the mystery but do not know of the original events and of each other. This situation sets in motion a meeting and events that would at the least, be described as an unusual fantasy with long standing links to the hero.

Hanging Rock again evokes its mystical power with three shimmer scenes and sub plots send the viewers minds spiralling toward other conclusions. Was there a technical hick up with powerful equipment used by the scientists? Did time distort? Has the aboriginal taken them? Or is it just Hanging Rock? Strong character development and sub text create a completely believable story that reaches its climax and an ending that will completely surprise the most hardened critic.

The motion picture, “Picnic at Hanging Rock”, directed by Peter Weir is critically acclaimed as the most successful Australian motion picture to date, and the screenplay was gleaned from the genius of Joan Lindsay, who authored the novel.

And out of the silence of a moment in time a vision will shine it’s light and a shattered past will find its way home in the truth – or does it?

For those who return to Mt. Macedon and the Rock on St. Valentine’s day 100 years later, their lives would be changed forever.

The riveting conclusion to the loss of two Botticelli angels and their teacher, who vanished without trace under the screaming wings of the Monolith, will forever be imprinted in the minds of the brave and the truth shall hover its own dimension.

The Reunion is based in part on the book by novelist Sean MacNamara (who has received sensational recommendations by a number of International Publishers) and by those personal insights of this writer. Contractional obligation has occurred between Sean MacNamara and Stephen Diamond to cement a working relationship and Stephen Diamond is masterminding the creation of a screenplay for international motion picture release.

Raymond Chandler once stated that the perfect mystery is one that is told even though the ending is missing.

There are many theories to Picnic at Hanging Rock that extend from the puritanical to science, extra-terrestrial activity and time distortion and on to murder, abduction and even a combination of the above. Some even say that the girls simply fell in a hole or something. But why was one of them found at a later stage. What happened to Miss McCraw and why? Are Australian native peoples part of this mystery? Is there a strange ancient presence that rules this area and others…

The following sets the tale;

“A Hundred Valentine Days”

In the land where love knows no boundaries

Where Time is a road to traverse

My Botticelli Angel roams free

For hers… Is the Universe

Now listen to the drums far a-beating

Watch the rosy red smoke rise up high

Catch these corsets stuck fast in Time now

Come back soon… my Valentine
